The first 16 weeks of your puppies life is a critical timeframe which will shape their behaviours and socialization skills for the rest of their life. Similar to children being sent to pre-school, we encourage puppies to attend pre-school classes. Not only is it great fun, the classes are designed to teach you and your new mate about socialization with other dogs, basic obedience and how to establish good manners that will stay with them for life. Vineyard Veterinary Hospital holds regular puppy pre-school classes which provide a safe, disease-free and controlled environment for your puppy to learn. The classes are held by our senior nurse Brooke Reed who has over ten years experience working with and training dogs and puppies. You will also receive a number of freebies, including a puppy starter pack which is loaded with lots of great information and samples.
Puppy pre-school class structure
Puppy pre-school classes are available to all puppies aged between 8 and 16 weeks. They are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm and go for 4 weeks. Each class allows time for “play-time”, basic training, one-on-one instruction and plenty of time to chat with Brooke about other puppy issues that may arise over the weeks.
The classes cost $110 for the 4 weeks and you do not need to be a client of Vineyard Veterinary Hospital to attend these classes. We encourage all of the family to come along and attend the lessons.
To find out more and enrol in the next class that is commencing, please call and ask to speak with Brooke on (02) 9627-1257.
